Salary: $110,000-$120,000/ year

Who We Are Looking For:
We are in search of a proactive GIS DBA/System Administrator, someone who is well-versed with the ArcGIS suite of desktop and server software. If you are organized, self-driven, and possess expertise in Oracle and Postgres databases supporting enterprise GIS, then you might be the perfect addition to our team. Your role will extend to backing software development activities for both desktop and web-based GIS applications across various programming languages.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Administer and maintain Oracle and PostgreSQL databases
  •  Demonstrate a deep understanding of database design, security, monitoring, tuning, and relational data architecture concepts
  •  Handle the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Esri software including ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Desktop, and ArcGIS Pro
  • Manage the installation and maintenance of custom software GIS analysis toolsets that use ArcGIS version 10.2 and subsequent dlls
  • Act as the go-to technical expert for diagnosing and rectifying issues
  • Consistently monitor day-to-day operations to reduce system disruptions
  • Exhibit familiarity with Git/GitHub for synchronized version control and development
  • Implement top-notch database security measures encompassing user access controls, data encryption, and authentication protocols
  • Craft and implement robust backup and recovery strategies, safeguarding against data loss and ensuring operational continuity
  • Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams like developers, system administrators, and GIS analysts to swiftly address database-centric issues
  • Display thorough knowledge of Windows Server Administration, IIS, REST-based web services, file sharing,SSL certifications, Windows Services, and third-party system monitoring tools
  • Show expertise in hosting application software on Windows Server, including installation, firewall rule management, storage configuration, and domain-managed services accounts
  • Provide support for intricate database engineering ventures, especially those with encrypted and security-sensitive data, utilizing profound knowledge of database engineering and administration

Desirable Skills/ Certs:

  • Database Administration: Expertise in Oracle and PostgreSQL database management, maintenance, and administration.
  • GIS Software Proficiency: Experience with the ArcGIS suite of desktop and server software, including ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Desktop, and ArcGIS Pro.
  • Software Development: Knowledge in developing desktop and web-based GIS applications using languages such as Python, JavaScript, and SQL.
  • Database Security: Familiarity with best practices in database security, including user access controls, authentication, and data encryption.
    • Esri Technical Certification: Preferably in ArcGIS Desktop or Enterprise domains.
    • Oracle Database Administrator Certified Professional or similar for PostgreSQL.
    • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administration.
